Today....Do not tomorrow...today...

Anyways, it was a beautiful morning on all accords. Woke definitely happy...felt good. I might have missed a workout or two this week. I'll get back on that by tomorrow. But i did run a 6.4 miler on one of those days. yesterrday i think. I skipped wednesday...friday and today. So i'll probably only have 4 days this week. Damn.

Anyway. I was watching wimbledon this morning. Agassi beat 27th seed Younes El Aynoui..or something. In 4 sets. He's not looking too sharp but he's gettin the job done. He plays huge serving Mark Phillipousis on monday.

Went to eat with mama at Ruby Tuesday's around 2. Boneless Buffalo wings are the shiat.

Chilled out for a while and played some Wolfenstein. Then Barrie came by. I was going to run today but i ended up taking a nap. I think i'll get back in the swing of things tomorrow.

Usually this is the time of the summer where my running starts to take a hit. And it has a little, but I need to make sure to get back on track this time. I really need to stay consistent. I have to give it everything i've got just once or i'll never be satisfied with myself. Can't have any regrets.

Threw around a frisbee for a while and then played some Euchre. Fun night. Came back home and cooked a Candian Bacon Pizza. Barrie and I watched Moonlight Mile starring Jake Gyllenhaal. Excellent actor. His performance made this movie worthwhile. I mean it was a pretty good emotional roller coaster with a killer soundtrack, but his performance was great. The movie had some Van the man Morrison on it. 2 tracks I believe...and it had a song from without limits that i don't know the name of. But it made me want to run. I'll be back.

Also watched a bit of Glory, Great flick from the late 80's.

Yesterday's workout-7.2 miles in 52.35. Kind of slow..but give me a break it was sweaty ass hot outside. heat index over a 100. I also stretched really well and did 160 situps and 30 pushups.

I was gonna go to the zoo today...but no longer...pshhh.

Music from the trace-Eric Clapton-Pretending, David Bowie-Changes, Queen-Bohemian Rhapsody
not a bad day. I worked yesterday too. I felt really tired at work, so waaah.
Watched Some Wimbledon...Agassi won. Cubs won...Sammy hit 2 homers and Kerry Wood pitched brilliantly. Went Bowlign last night and i bowled awful. I started with 4 consecutive gutter balls but then i found my rhythm and still managed to get over 100. 108 i think.
Back later with and update on today's action

Went golfing...shot a 47 for 9 par 3 holes. My 2nd best ever. Went running

workout-5.9 miles in 41.43. It felt good. I don't think it's going to feel good today because i'm tired.

Music from the trace-Blue Oyster Cult-Don't Fear the Reaper(I gotta have more cowbell baby!), War-Low Rider...that was cool.

i'm out like the gout

Saturday first.....Ok...Clowns to the left of me, Jokers to the right, here I am....

Race Summary-Running Raider Classic, June 21 2003@Quincy, IL-

This was a road race. I woke up that morning by myself with severe pain in my stomach. Baumschmerzen in German. Anyway...I didn't feel good at all. But when I arrived at the race It went away. It was just foreshadowing what was to come I guess. I warmed up by myself about a mile or so. It was nice. I felt fine. My legs were a little dead...but I could get through that. It seemed like forever before the race was about to start. They started it with this mini cannon just as they did last year. It was pretty cool. And really loud. I started off leading the entire field;both 5k and 10k. at about the half mile mark...2 fellows came up and started to run with me. One was Eric Saka and the other I do not know. Anyways...at about 1.5 miles...pain set in. I couldn't feel anything or think of anything except the pain in my stomach. I was on pace for a good time. My legs weren't tired at all. My stomach hurt and i started to fall back. 2 old guys passed me. and with about a half mile to go a girl even passed me. No ordinary girl...she is an all stater in high school. Top 5 in cross. but she passed me and i was freaking out. When she passed me i fell in to 6th i believe. So then i put in one of my famous kicks...but it was sort of subdued..and very painful because of my stomach. I passed 3 people and this guy barely edged me at the line for 2nd. so I got 3rd overall in 18.26. Saka won in 17.34...i could've been at least 17.45. Then i warmed down and shot the shit with Lane, Saka, Haines and Andrea Edgar.

Workout-5 miles total.

Movies- I watch a lot of movies. I watched Super troopers...which is just hilarious for someone in my disposition. Not a great piece of filmmaking. Just hilarious. I'm talking hilarious meow. Everyone should see this once.

I also saw Unfaithful. Interesting movie. It was kind of a soft porn. Not too bad of acting..but some of the situations were pretty hokey. I'd still say it's decent...but not a must see.

Then we all partied at Andy's and let our worries slip away. Fun night...with pictures. Maybe i'll find a way to get them up here and let everyone have a look. Prolly not cuz i'm not good at stuff like that.

Today...Woke up at andy's....went and played an excellent game of Ultimate Frisbee. ahh..it was cool. Haven't played in such a long time. great game. But the heat was killing me. I drank a ton of water today. Then came home and ate some hardees and watched the U.s track and field championships. It was cool. The 1500 was pretty sweet. Then i progressed to an evening run. At first it didn't feel good but i got a good rhythm going and i just kept going. 8.2 miles in 59.36. not bad.

Mileage total for the week-37 miles exactly...still rising
Mileage for the summer-158.2

And then i hung out with andy, nathan, leah, and baarrie for a game of bocce ball. I got last..cuz i suck. I might stay up and watch a move right now but then again i might go to bed.

Friday, June 20, 2003

Gotta go to bed soon...and i'm tired...weird combination lately.

Alright...today..got up...ran

Today's workout-3.6 miles...in 24.58...plus i did 6 long strides. 4.0 miles it shall be.

I was pretty tired most of the run. I stretched really well afterwards thinking that might be the problem. I think it is.

Also...had to work tonight. Got off a little early for the race. Awesome....

I was going to right a huge rant about women...but i decided not too cuz i'm really tired.

Let's just say....Women are never satisfied...i'm only 20...i have no idea what i want yet....everyone needs to back off.

Music from the trace is kind of a re-run today-Guns N Roses-Sweet Chile O' mine, Led Zeppelin-Fool in the Rain, Elton John-Levon...i'm sure i've had all 3 of those songs before.

Anyways..i'm out.

I do what i do...my way...

anyway..i didn't uh..post yesterday.

so here is yesterday's workout-4.8 miles in 32.58

Today i'm doing my pre race shindizzle....and then i'll be on my way. I'll get back with today's workout later.

Wasn't much for music on the airwaves, but as always
Music from the trace-The Alleman Brothers Band-Firing Line, The Doors-Love Me Two Times(if that's what it's called), and Elton John-Bennie and the Jets

Also watched Death to Smoochy yesterday. Interesting movie. I've seen it before...it was better this time i'd have to say.

i need to run...later

"Does anyone remember laughter?"

What's with today, today?

I went to bed quite early last night. Woke up this morning at 9...good night's sleep right? I was in bed before 1. No...wasn't a good night yet...so i fell back asleep....woke up at noon. Now that's good sleep! Chilled around the house most the afternoon watching various programs. Can't remember anything i watched though. Nothing too memorable i guess. Had to work at 5. Work sucked, but i was a trooper and stuck with it. Finished at a decent time. That leads into.....

Tonight's workout- This night run stuff is becoming a weekly thing. Wednesday's. 4.3 miles in 32.46. It was ok i guess. I'll only run 5 or 6 tomorrow and then 3 or 4 on friday. That's called tapering ladies and gentleman. I'll run that race on saturday then finish the week out with a nice 8 miler or so on sunday.

I"m gonna go ice my knee now. Sleep well.

"Great ambition and conquest without contribution is without significance. What will your contribution be? How will history remember you? "

Today started off with a bang. I was up a little late this morning. And I had to get up semi early this morning...for work. So I labored through a hangover basically. ha..ha..get it? Anyway, work was horrendous. I just kept saying to myself that the end is near. Afterwards I tried to take a nap in the afternoon but it was to no avail. I ended up watching this movie on tv.
"Someone like You" Don't watch this movie. Nothing about this movie made me smile. There was only maybe a half smile. A smirk if you will. Other than that got my application to the race this weekend, today. Should be fun, lots of the high school guys are racing in it. My ass=whooped.

Then I decided it was probably time for some kind of a workout. Segue

Today's workout-5.1 miles in 34.10

Felt 'ok', considering the circumstances. My stomach was a little out of order, but tis expected and accepted. I got on with the run anyway. Towards the beginning of it, I spotted two young tenders walking together as I was about to pass by them. They were giggling, and half-heartedly trying to avoid contact. I desperately tried run around them but it was to no effect. The girl was using the brush by technique. Acting as if she wasn't paying attention and accidentally nudge in to a passer by. But before I could realize what happened, i had surpassed them by about 10 meters. She copped a feel! That's right....she grabbed my ass I ran by. I couldn't believe it. To confirm my suspicions, I glanced back with a puzzled look on my face to see them too glancing in my direction laughing.

I also stretched and did 15 pushups afterwards.

Music from the trace-Bon Jovi-Wanted Dead or Alive, Soundgarden-Fell on Black Days, Led Zeppelin-Good Times, Bad Times, Simple Minds-Don't You Forget About Me

After i took a shower, I proceeded to Mr. Bills and got myself some hot wings. I went home and watched the movie I rented(I decided to stay in tonight after last night's theatrics), The Emperor's Club. This Movie was inspiring to me. It really made me want to be a teacher. Perhaps that is my path. We'll see. It was a good flick. Kevin Kline's performance was truly inspiring.

And here I am..I'll probably read a bit and then hit the sack. Oh yeah...i watched the Cubs lose tonight a bit too. They wasted a great pitching performance by carlos zambrano.

adios

Yo Yo yo...

Monday's workout-6.0 miles in 40.49 not bad....

I found Lane and Saka about 4 miles in to the run...and i cruised that last 2 with them. And by cruise i mean..hauled ass. Those guys are so fast. they carried me along that last 2 miles to my best 6 mile time this summer.

I'll be back later with a today's report

Sunday, June 15, 2003

Sunday, sunday..sunday....Wendy...i miss her.

Today..i didn't do much... I did a lot of yard work. it was hot out side and i was diggin bricks out of the ground. and then had to stack some bricks. It wasn't for too long though. After that I made a fatal mistake. I went for an 8 mile run at about 5 something. So it was still really hot out. But i went out in the country. No shade...no water breaks for 7 miles of the run. It was horrible..but i got through it somehow. Had to stop a lot, but oh well.

Today's workout-8 miserable miles.

Weekly total-34.8 miles...still rising

Summer Total-121.2 miles

Goals for next week.. Try and get up early and do my run in the A.m.
get at least 37 miles in. And run my 5k saturday in decent time. I have no idea what kind of shape i'm in really. So if i get under 18 i'd be happy. option of 17.30

Game on.....

"Guess who just got back today..."

Alright..it's saturday the 14th....and i went for a nice run in the blistering heat.

7.2 miles in 52.35. Stretched afterwards...

Songs from the trace-Thin Lizzy-the boys are back in town, Guns N Roses-Welcome To the Jungle, Aerosmith-livin on the Edge.

Movies-I've seen some decent movies lately so i thought i'd share. First, The Recruit-Not a bad film. It certainly keeps your interest...because it moves like the wind. You feel kind of let down at the end...but it wasnt' a bore. Old School-Fuggin' hilarious. I loved it...It might have cracked my top ten comedies. Not a great movie...but you need to see it. Good stuff..
The Pianist- Boring at times but i can see why everybody loved it so much. A really powerful story of survival. It's been done though...what makes it good is that it's a true story.

arievaderche? typical american

"Today's Tom Sawyer, he get high on you..."

Tuesday, June 10, 2003

So...yeah...i haven't been on in a while...i've been busy..and still am. Wendy left on sunday...that was a sad day...i haven't blogged since. So here goes.

Sunday night i ran a fairly long run. I think the trace came out to be 7.4 miles.

Weekly total-31.4 miles, Summer total-86.4 miles.

Monday and today i just ran 4 miles both days because i haven't been feeling all too well. My knee has been giving me some more trouble. Just soreness...probably tendonitis or something. Haven't been doing situps or pushups...i'll get on that tomorrow..i have to run more mileage tomorrow somehow. Try to get out for at least 6 or 7.

Friday, June 06, 2003

5.6 miles in 40.49....the last mile was a cool down sort of..so..that's why it's a little slow.

I did 6 strides at the park...then did the cool down.
So total mileage for the day is gonna be 6.0...that gets me back on track.

Music from the trace-Collective Soul-Heaven let your light shine down, The Police-Roxanne, The Beatles-Revolution, and Led Zeppelin-Living Loving Maid(She's just a woman). Today was agood day for music...and an even better day because wendy is still here. Woohoo.

End

Thursday, June 05, 2003

Workout- 4.4 miles in blistering heat...30.51...that really hurt...it was supposed to be a 6 miler..but i hurt...i'll try to run 5 tomorrow to make up for it.

Songs from the trace-ACDC-I've got big balls, dancin in the moonlight by an unknown artist, and Aerosmith-sweet emotion.

But no time to chat...wendy's here...and i've got to entertain my guest...

you diggin what i'm groovin?

Wednesday, June 04, 2003

My first 'night' run of the summer was partially a success. I felt good most of the way...but now my knee hurts a little. Hopefully it's nothing serious. I ran at a comfortably numb pace...I through in some surges and i felt like i was going fairly fast most of the way.

3.8 miles in 27.50. Stretched a little. I had to run at night because of the aforementioned assload of hours i had to work. Bogus.

I ate some hot pockets after I ran...those were good. And then some oreos and milk...those were better.

End

"The world I loved, the tears I drop, to be part of the wave .....can't stop"

Well yesterday was a boring day...it was cooool again. And my run was good again. Probably some sort of correlation there. It's hot today though. I'm gonna wait til it's dark to run.

Workout- 6.0 miles .....42.44
It was pretty quick compared to most of my runs. I think i can handle the 6 mile distance now. It didn't kick my ass. Also did 192 situps and 52 pushups and stretched afterwards.

Fuckin Agassi lost in the Quarters of the U.S open to this ratty lookin Argentine named Guillermo Coria. Maybe he's not ratty lookin but he sucks. Ok...so he doesn't suck..he's really good. I'm just pissed Andre lost.

Watched the daily show yesterday; Eddie Izzard was on the show. It was a great show needless to say.

Also watched "Tin cup", yesterday. It was no caddyshack, but it's a decent movie involving golf. The hard stuff's not comin down for a a while.

Music from the trace-Nazareth-Love Hurts, Ton Loc-Wild thang....Oh Yeah, Red Hot Chili Peppers-The Zephyr Song, and then I listened to Paul Harvey. He's the man.

I have to work an assload of hours today which right now i'm between shifts. I worked from 10.30-2, and i have to go back and work 5-11.30. But please, No Pity.

Shit..it's already 4.I'm out like the fat kid in dodge ball.

Tuesday, June 03, 2003

Monday's workout-3.8miles.....26.02.

Not bad. I'm happy with it. My legs felt fresh for a change. Also did 180 situps and 50 pushups.

It's cool again today...so hopefully i'll have another good workout.

Watched a movie yesterday. Maybe you've heard of it, swimfan?
It seemed..well ya know..."ok", but it had just and absolutely ridiculous ending. Thumbs down...if you can avoid it, then do it. Because if you're like me and you start watching a movie like this, you can't stop....the rhythm of the shindig?

Anyway...the movie was bad.
Music for the trace-Elton John-Don't let the sun go down on me, Janis Joplin-Me and Bobby Mcgee, and one that has been stuck in my head, Pearl Jam-Black

Blaaaaah....right in her eye

Sunday, June 01, 2003

I've missed a couple entries....deal with it.

Friday I ran 6 miles. Saturday i took off. And today...I ran 7.2 miles in 54.27.
It was exhausting. It felt good at first, but then the alcohol i drank last night came back to hit me. Yeaaah.

So...Total mileage for the week of may 26-june1: 26 miles again.

Total Mileage for summer-55 miles

Today's music- The Cars-Just what I needed, Coldplay-Clocks, and Rush-Closer to the Heart.

Adaptation is a good movie...check it out. Not in my top 5 or even in my top 10..but still a good film.

Peace
