right on cue. it's like i can only get it up for this once a month. I need some viagra.
Well, my favorite holiday has come and passed. Thanksgiving of course. A tradition marked by enormous amounts of food and the greatest game in all the land....family football. It's an unusual brand of football perfected by middle-aged men and pre-teens alike. And this year was a special version of the fall classic. There emerged no winner. An 11-11 tie would be the fate of this edition. My team felt pretty good about the game. Scott was QBing opposed with zane for the other squad. So we felt good about that right away. The rest of my team shaped up as follows. Me and Robbie; Two proven playmakers and clutch performers. Jimmy; a very solid contributor. And then little Kevin; more on him later. The other team had Zane's #1 pick that never performs, Adam(and he didn't really this year either aside from 2 picks.) They also had Jake. Jake is a wildcard and has amazing athleticism still. Then they had Joe, austin and Zach.
Zane's team had the ball first. On the very first play from scrimmage I picked zane off and almost returned it to the house but i got to like the 1 yard line. But then I look behind me and Robbie is down clutching his knee. He was carted off to the field and then to the emergency room. And then from the sidelines emerged an old man coming out of retirement. Robert was the new player. He played quarterback mostly and scott had to catch some passes. Robert played well. Robert and I hooked up for a deep pass to the pylon with jake all over me that I juggled and caught as i was falling down. Turned out to be out of bounds barely but it was an amazing play. Robert led the team to a 5-2 halftime lead(score by 1's). But that was all we could muster out of him. Robert and Joe quit at halftime. But we kept pouring it on. We had a 7-3 lead when everybody started to wear down. Except for Jake. The guy went crazy and pretty much scored all of his teams points. Before we knew it the score was 9-8. Then the game became a defensive struggle. It stayed at 9-8 for a good 45 minutes. Jimmy had to leave to take his daughter somewhere. So Alex stepped in for us. But they were not to be denied. They tied it at 9. But then I summoned up all the strength I had left for one final push. It was a long drive but it ended with me scoring a touchdown to make it 10-9. But as we were walking off the field, somebody blurted out "Win by two." Fucking Bullshit. So we go back out there dead tired and play for another 20 minutes or so. The score is 11-11 when we call it a day. This one was an instant classic and maybe the first draw in the colored history of the family football game. Little Kevin ended up scoring 4 touchdowns for us. And Zach came up huge for them with a pick in the endzone and a touchdown.
And my line went something like this: 3 TD receptions, 1 kickoff returned for a TD(maybe the play of the game.) 5 INTs.
not a bad day
